How To Enjoy TNEG

I understand that my style of writing and doing things may be unusual by J-pop blog standards because I don’t share files, nor post lyric translations or just post about things I really like. Because let’s face it, it would be boring. But on another level, this makes my blog a bit hard to understand in places. So, with that this page is a little bit of an FAQ (as opposed to the About page which is more of a general contact post)

I don’t understand your post categories!
Weeeeell… my method of categorising posts is by record label of the release I review in question. So if I did a review of Utada Hikaru or Shiina Ringo or GO!GO!7188 it would be under EMI Music Japan. Similarly, if I reviewed Ayumi Hamasaki, AAA or globe it would be filed avex trax. This is so that I can review a large number of varying artist without cluttering up the categories too much.

What about if I want to search for a particular artist?
Don’t fret, you can search via Search function. Up on the right corner. Or you can look at the tag cloud.

What is the “what artistry?” section?
Just random talks about how artists do things in general without reference to a specific release so it isn’t a review of a release. So it takes a general overview. Things in this area tend to be critical, but I tend to sing praises every now and again.

Do you take requests to review stuff?
Maybe.

Why do you dislike certain artists?
Usually I have my reasons, but there are a couple who I just dislike on principle and thus won’t warrant a review on any counts.

What’s with your rating system?
Ignore
Digital Copy
Physical Copy

Ignore basically means don’t bother spending your money and time on this, because it isn’t worth cluttering your CD collection with this. Digital Copy means not bothering with the shipping and handling for this actual CD and having a copy from a reputable mp3 store (or however else you get your music digitally). Physical Copy means you should buy this CD otherwise you’re missing part of your life. I realise this system isn’t the best, but it’s what I came up with and I’m sticking by it unless something better comes along.

Can I leave a question for you?
Please do, leave it in the comment section!
